Interviews with Sports Leaders

2012 Olympic Challenge days:

In the Olympic challenge days, we took a camera round with us, while taking photos of the different activities while interviewing a range of people of different genders and ages. By interviewing different people, we gained knowledge about how successful the Olympic day was.

This is a summary of an interview with a range of Sports leaders.

We got to learn the rules about a range of Sports, and we were able to put the rules into play. In the Olympic days we were playing the sports with the Year 11’s and the teachers, this helped me understand the rules better because we had guidance. As well as this, by doing these challenge days, we were able to link the activities to the 2012 Olympic Games. However we were able to put the rules into a game by leading the other team players. The Challenge days were scheduled on two days where we got to join in with a range of activities and we got to learn about the types of sports they would have at the Olympics. I enjoyed these challenge days, this is because we were able to meet new people, and work in groups to create an Olympic themed day.  The range of sports we joined in with was a range of sports with mixed genders.  The Challenge days helped improve my understanding of how to lead a group of different ages.

These challenge days linked to the theme of the 2012 Olympic Games because we were replicating coaches involved with the different sports. As well as this, by having these challenge days we were able to become involved while using a range of skills. There was a wide range of sports involved in these challenge days, for example Dodge ball and Bench ball. The range of sports we played involved a wide range of sports and sporting abilities. While doing these challenge days, lots of people were involved, for example the year 11’s and the PE staff and teachers, so they could observe the day.

While interviewing the sports leaders, we were able to gain knowledge about how the sports linked to the 2012 Olympics. We asked a range of questions which linked to the theme of the Olympics. For example, “Did you enjoy the Challenge days, and why” on the other hand we also asked questions which gave us an understanding of how successful the day was, and what the range of sports were.
